The wristband is immediately attached to the patient’s wrist and can be removed only by destroying it intentionally. It should not be cut off and removed until the patient is discharged. All the information used to identify the person concerned is printed on the patient’s ID wristband: Full name, date of birth, ID number, and health insurance information.

The most important information or special characteristics can be added specifically for each individual patient: Existing intolerances to certain active ingredients, life-threatening allergies to certain drugs and/or foods. Information regarding regularly taken medication can also be printed with appropriate reference on the wristband.

If, for example, the patient changes physicians, the new physician will be able to immediately recognize the most important items printed on the patient ID wristband even before reading the medical file. Incorrect treatment is thus significantly reduced or even completely avoided.
